Barry K. Metcalf, Principal
Barry founded Aspens Senior Living in 2009 with Dean Eldridge with the intention to develop Class A independent living communities for active seniors. Prior to forming Aspens Senior Living, Barry was involved in multiple facets of the real estate industry, including multifamily brokerage, land development, land investment and senior housing development. He was a partner with Cadence Capital Partners, LP, which was formed to serve as a catalyst in real estate development and investment activities primarily in Dallas-Fort Worth. Cadence focused on land investments in Dallas-Fort Worth, which involved aggregating large tracts of land in the path of growth, entitling the land for its highest and best use, then selling to end users or contributing the land to a vertical development.
Barry has been personally involved in the acquisition, disposition, development and management of more than $350 million in real estate. Barry earned his Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University.
David Brown, Chief Financial Officer & Controller
David serves as chief financial officer and controller for Aspens Senior Living. He is responsible for all aspects of the company's internal and external financial analysis and reporting as well as management of the firm's accounting and treasury activities.
David has more than 18 years of experience in accounting and financial leadership positions across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Aspens Senior Living, he led the Financial Planning & Analysis function for Animal Supply Company, a private equity-owned distributor of pet supplies and products. David has both a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University.
